Wicked extends booking period to November 2019
The West End production of Wicked has extended its booking period at the Apollo Victoria Theatre, taking the show into its 13th year in London.
With music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, Wicked is based on the novel by Gregory Maguire and tells the story of a witch called Elphaba who would go on to become the Wicked Witch of the West, and Glinda, the Good Witch of the South. It takes place in the same world as The Wizard of Oz, and begins just prior to Dorothy's arrival.
Wicked is now booking at the Apollo Victoria Theatre until 30th November 2019.
The cast of Wicked currently includes Alice Fearn (Elphaba), Sophie Evans (Glinda), David Witts (Fiyero), Melanie La Barrie (Madame Morrible), Andy Hockley (The Wizard), Chris Jarman (Doctor Dillamond), Rosa O'Reilly (Nessarose), and Jack Lansbury (Boq).
This Christmas, five extra matinee performances have been added to the show's schedule. These 2.30pm performances will be on Monday 24 December, Thursday 27 December, Friday 28 December, Sunday 30 December 2018 and Thursday 3 January 2019.
Later this year, Wicked, which is currently the 5th longest-running musical playing in the West End, will become the 13th longest-running West End show ever, when it plays its 5,141st performance on 8th December, surpassing Buddy - The Buddy Holly Story.
