Wicked extends in the West End into 2019

West End musical Wicked has announced it has extended in London into 2019. 

The show, which runs at the Apollo Victoria Theatre, is the 7th longest-running show currently playing in the West End, and the 15th longest runner in West End history. It began previews in London on 7th September 2006, and is now booking in London until 24th May 2019. 

Wicked currently stars Alice Fearn (Elphaba), Sophie Evans (Glinda), Bradley Jaden (Fiyero), Melanie La Barrie (Madame Morrible), Andy Hockley (The Wizard), Martin Ball (Doctor Dillamond), Sarah McNicholas (Nessarose), Jack Lansbury (Boq), Laura Pick (standby for Elphaba) and Carina Gillespie & Maria Coyne (standby for Glinda)

The Stephen Schwartz musical is based on the novel 'Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West' by Gregory Maguire, and was adapted for the stage by Winnie Holzman. The show premiered on Broadway in 2003 at the Gershwin Theatre, where it continues to run. 

Over the course of its run in the West End, names to have appeared in the show include Idina Menzel, Helen Dallimore, Adam Garcia, Gina Beck, Willemijn Verkaik, Kerry Ellis, Louise Dearman and Miriam Margolyes. 

Wicked is booking at the Apollo Victoria Theater until 24th May 2019.
