Wonder.Land cast announced - Olivier, NT

The cast has been announced for wonder.land, a new musical inspired by Lewis Carroll's 'Alice in Wonderland', which features music by Damon Albarn and book and lyrics by Moira Buffini, at the Olivier, National Theatre, from 23 November 2015 to 30 April 2016, with an official opening set for 10 December.

The cast will include Carly Bawden as Alice, Lois Chimimba as Aly, Sam Archer, Ivan De Freitas, Anna Francolini, Hal Fowler, Paul Hilton, Daisy Maywood, Enyi Okoronkwo, Golda Rosheuvel, Cydney Uffindell-Phillips and Whitney White, Leon Cooke, Nadine Cox, Adrian Grove, Joshua Lacey, Lisa Ritchie, Ed Wade, Simon Anthony and Stephanie Rojas.

Carly Bawden is currently performing in the West End, as Dahlia in McQueen, which today announced that it will close early on 17 October 2015.

The production will be directed by Rufus Norris and has set designs by Rae Smith, with projections by 59 Productions, costumes by Katrina Lindsay, lighting by Paule Constable, sound by Paul Arditti, choreography by Javier De Frutos and musical direction by David Shrubsole.

"Welcome to wonder.land, where you can be exactly who you want to be. Aly, 12, loves this extraordinary virtual world. Bullied at school and unhappy at home, wonder.land lets her escape from her parents, from teachers, from herself."

The show is a co-production between the National Theatre and Manchester International Festival.
