The YouTuber Tanya Burr is set to star in a  revival of Judy Upton's Confidence at Southwark Playhouse this summer.

Burr is known for her work on the video platform, on which posts beauty and lifestyle videos and has garnered over 3.7 million subscribers. She has also acted on screen, but will be making her professional stage debut as Ella in the play.

Confidence looks at 90s youth culture and follows three teenagers who work on the laical seafront during the summer, with Ella aching for a way out. It premiered at Birmingham Rep in 1998

Produced by Boundless Theatre, it will be directed by artistic director Rob Drummer who said: "Rediscovering Judy's play in the context of 2018 and looking at the legacy of 90s youth culture is an exciting prospect.  In the hedonism of the 90s and the changing tide of political optimism did young people get what they want?

"For a new generation now, we want to see what has changed and why instilling confidence in young people to take up space and have a voice matters more than ever."

Confidence is at Southwark Playhouse from 23rd May to 16th June, with an official opening on 25th May.
