Jade Ewen was born in January 1988 in Plaistow, London. She received a scholarship to the Sylvia Young Theatre School, during which time she appeared in TV shows such as The Bill, Mr. Harvey Lights a Candle and Casualty. She is, however, predominately known as a singer, songwriter best recognised as former band member of The Sugababes. Ewen also released several singles in 2008 and In 2009 she represented the UK in the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 where she sang “It’s My Time." The song was composed by Andrew Lloyd Webber and reached number 27 in the UK charts, making it Ewen's most successful single.

In 2014, Ewen played the role of Clara in Porgy and Bess at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre. Jade also appeared in the West End transfer of In The Heights as Vanessa, which was staged at Kings Cross Theatre.

Ewen originated the role of Jasmine in the West End transfer of Aladdin at the Prince Edward Theatre. The cast included Trevor Dion Nicholas. Ewen appeared in the show from 2016 - 2019.
