Olly Dobson is a West End actor, who has appeared in a number of London shows in recent years. In 2021, he originated the role of Marty McFly in the West End premiere of Back to the Future: The Musical at the Adelphi Theatre.

Graduating from Arts Educational School in 2014, Dobson got a taste for leading roles in musicals. While training, Dobson was fortunate enough to play Bobby in Company and Che in Evita. He’s also starred in musicals including The Music Man and Catch Me If You Can during his time in drama school. Other actors in his graduating class include Dex Lee and Danny-Boy Hatchard.

Upon leaving drama school, Dobson has starred in many London musicals, including a revival of Carrie at Southwark Playhouse in 2015. He’s also played Michael Wormwood in Matilda at the Cambridge Theatre and appeared in Guy Chambers’ The Selfish Giant at the Vaudeville Theatre. Dobson is no stranger to rock musicals, starring in the London production of Bat Out Of Hell for both its runs at the London Coliseum and the Dominion Theatre.

As well as musicals, Dobson has also sung in concerts and workshops. He’s sung in a RAGS concert at the Lyric Theatre, alongside Caroline Sheen, Leila Benn Harris and Graham MacDuff. He’s also taken part in workshops for Martin Guerre, Strictly Ballroom, Bugsy Malone and Bananaman.

In 2020, Dobson began performances as Marty McFly in Back to the Future: The Musical, which had its world premiere in Manchester ahead of a London run. Sadly, Coronavirus put a halt to proceedings, with Manchester performances cut short. However, Dobson resumed his Back to the Future: The Musical run in London in 2021.
