Christopher “Kit” Harington was born in Acton, London in 1986. After seeing Ben Whishaw’s Hamlet in 2004 he was inspired to train as an actor, and did so at the Central School of Speech and Drama. Whilst studying he was cast as Albert in War Horse at the National Theatre.

After War Horse, Harington took on the role of Ed Montgomery in Posh at the Royal Court, followed by Donmar Warehouse’s The Vote, playing the role of Colin. The show was live broadcasted on More4 and included 40 plus cast members including Mark Gatiss, Judi Dench and Catherine Tate.

Harington is best known for his role as Jon Snow in HBO’s hit fantasy drama Game of Thrones alongside Emilia Clarke. He was also honoured with Actor of the Year in 2013 at the Young Hollywood Awards for his role in Silent Hill: Revelation 3D. In 2016 Harington returned to the stage in Doctor Faustus, starring as the title role of Faustus at the Duke of York's Theatre. In 2022, he returned to the Donmar Warehouse, starring in Henry V.
