

‘A Streetcar Named Desire’, starring Paul Mescal, announces full cast
The Tennessee Williams play is at the Almeida Theatre.

Find out the full cast for Tennessee Williams’s A Streetcar Named Desire at the Almeida Theatre this winter. A Streetcar Named Desire begins previews at the Almeida Theatre on 10 December, ahead of an opening night on 20 December, and performances to 4 Feb. 2023.
The BAFTA-winning Normal People actor Paul Mescal will play Stanley in A Streetcar Named Desire, alongside Anjana Vasan as Stella. The cast includes Eduardo Ackerman, Ralph Davis, Janet Etuk, Gabriela García, Tom Penn, Jabez Sykes, and Dwane Walcott.
The A Streetcar Named Desire play follows sisters Blanche and Stella who reunite in New Orleans. Reality and illusions collide for the fractious pair, especially when Stella’s husband Stanley discovers hidden truths. Rebecca Frecknall returns to the Almeida to direct A Streetcar Named Desire. She previously directed Summer and Smoke at the off-West End venue, as well as the seven-time Olivier-winning Cabaret musical at the Kit Kat Club.
The show features set design by Madeleine Girling, costume design by Merle Hensel, lighting design by Lee Curran, and sound design by Peter Rice.
