Paul Whitehouse will leave the West End production of Only Fools and Horses the Musical at the end of the week, as he takes a short break from playing Grandad before returning in 'several months' time'.

Whitehouse wrote the production, which is based on John Sullivan's hit TV sitcom, with the creator's son Jim. It features a host of characters from the series, including wheeler-dealer Del Boy, his brother Rodney, and Grandad.

While Whitehouse takes his break, Andy Mace will take over the role at the Theatre Royal Haymarket. Mace, whose theatre credits include The Lion King and Wicked, has been playing Mike the Barman in the production, as well as covering the role of Grandad.

Only Fools and Horses the Musical is currently booking at the Theatre Royal Haymarket until February 2020.

The production features music from duo Chas n Dave, who provided the iconic theme tune to the television series, opened in London earlier this year. It stars Tom Bennett as Del Boy and Ryan Hutton as Rodney.

Only Fools and Horses the Musical is booking at the Theatre Royal Haymarket until February 2020.
