"ART" CAST CHANGE FROM 4TH MARCH 02

Stephen McGann, Jamie Theakson and Christopher Luscombe will star as 'Marc' 'Serge' and 'Yvan' , in Art at the Whitehall Theatre from 4th March 02.

Their first performance will be the 2400th performance of Art in London and they will be the 24th cast.

Stephen McGann made his West End debut as a teenager in 1982, starring in the musical "Yakety Yak" with his brothers Joe, Paul and Mark. On TV, he recently completed a three-year stint in "Emmerdale" as 'Sean Reynolds'.

Jamie Theakson was a member of the National Youth Theatre in 1984. He is best known as a TV presenter on "Live & Kicking" on BBC 1, "Top of The Pops" on BBC1, "The Priory" on Channel 4.

Christopher Luscombe began his career writing and performing for the Cambridge Footlights. He appeared in Sam Mendes's production of "Kean" at the Old Vic, followed by 7 years with the RSC. He recently adapted and directed the world premiere of Noel Coward's "Star Quality" at the Apollo Theatre.

Art by Yasmina Reza, translated by Christopher Hampton, opened in London at Wyndham's Theatre on 15th Oct 1996 starring Albert Finney, Tom Courtenay and Ken Stott, and won both the Evening Standard Drama Award and the Laurence Olivier Award for 'Best Comedy'.

Art is the play with the most Olivier Award nominations ever, having received five in 1997, and the New York production won both the Tony Award and the New York Critics Award for 'Best Play'.

The play is directed by Matthew Warchus. It is designed by Mark Thompson and produced by David Pugh Limited and Sean Connery.
