Bea Arthur has died of cancer aged 86

American TV, Film and Theatre actress Bea Arthur, has died of cancer aged 86. She died at her home in Los Angeles on 25 Apr 2009.

Her one-woman show "BEA ARTHUR AT THE SAVOY", was at the West End's Savoy Theatre in 2003, following a US regional tour in 2001 and a Broadway run in 2002. On Broadway, in 1966 she won a Tony Award for the musical "Mame,"

Bea Arthur was best known as 'Dorothy' in the hit 80s TV series "The Golden Girls" and also as 'Maude Findlay' in the controversial 70's TV series 'Maude".
