The Blue Elephant Theatre has announced its autumn/winter programme

Jukai by Theatre Temoin. Directed by Ailin Conant. Theatre Temoin collaborates with Taiko drummers to devise a new piece which incorporates half-mask, contemporary theatre and Japanese traditional music to tell a story about straying from the path.

19 Oct to 6 Nov
The Cave by Mervyn Peake. Directed by Aaron Paterson. Follows the fortunes of the same family set against a background of three distinctly different periods in different history and poses thought provoking questions about the human condition.

9 Nov to 4 Dec
The White Devil by John Webster. Directed by Ricky Dukes. Produced by Lazarus Theatre Company. Complex Jacobean revenge tragedy, given a contemporary style. Performed by a large ensemble cast who, through the use of text, movement and music, will create the decadence and debauchery of the Italian court.

7 to 18 Dec
Cliched / Mind the Gap (Double Bill) An evening of two shows, the contemporary dance company Sebastian Rex Dance Group will perform 'Cliched', and the theatre company, Acting Like Mad, will perform a short new play, 'Mind The Gap'. 'Clichéd', inspired by the word's meaning of an overused expression or idea, explores what happens when cliches are stripped of their meaning and are given new ones. 'Mind The Gap' is a playful exploration of story-telling. Four young friends sit, talk, sleep with each other and play games and tell stories in short staccato dialogue; their backgrounds are presented to the audience as the opposite to an explanation of their motives...
