Brenda Edwards in Will Rock You at Dominion 21 June

Brenda Edwards joins the cast of The Queen musical We Will Rock You as 'Killer Queen' from 21 June 2010, at the Dominion Theatre.

Brenda Edwards , who came 4th in ITV1's "The X Factor" in 2005 and who made her West End debut in Chicago as Mama Morton in 2006, played 'The Killer Queen' in the 2009 UK tour of We Will Rock You. She joins the cast at the Dominion Theatre for a limited ten week season before she embarks again on a lengthy UK and international tour of the show starting in December in Manchester.

Show co-creator Brian May said: We're very happy that, while our wonderful Mazz Murray takes a break to have her baby, Brenda Edwards is to play Killer Queen for us in the Dominion Theatre. Brenda is irrepressible, scary, funny, and a killer singer. The lot! She delighted audiences on the WWRY tour of Britain last year. I have no doubt that she will Rock the Dominion."

Brenda Edwards said : "I'd like to wish Mazz all the best for the birth of her first child. I'm so excited to be asked to be part of the West End Production and can't wait to bring my kind of magic to the Dominion Theatre."

We Will Rock You opened at the Dominion theatre 14 May 2002, following previews from 26 April 2002, and has been seen by over 4.5 million people in London .

It has songs by Queen and book by Ben Elton, and is directed by Christopher Renshaw, choreographed by Arlene Phillips, with designs by Mark Fisher and Willie Williams.

The cast continues to feature Australian Peter Murphy (Galileo), Louise Bowden (Meat), Sabrina Aloueche (Scaramouche), Ian Carlyle (Britney), Garry Lake (Pop), Alex Bourne (Khasoggi).

We Will Rock You does not chronicle the story of the band, Queen, rather it incorporates the songs of the rock group. The time is the future. Globalisation is complete. Everywhere, the kids watch the same movies wear the same fashions and think the same thoughts. It's a safe happy, Ga Gaworld. Unless your a rebel. Unless you want rock. On Planet Mall all musical instruments are banned. The company computers generate the tunes and everyone downloads them. But resistance is growing. Legend persists that somewhere on Planet Mall instruments still exist......

We Will Rock You is currently taking bookings to 16 April 2011.
