The musical Caroline, or Change is to transfer to the Hampstead Theatre following an earlier run in Chichester.

Tony Kushner and Jeanine Tesori's musical starred Sharon D Clarke, who will transfer with the production. Set in '60s Louisiana, the musical is about eight-year old Noah who is struggling with the death of his mother and his father's subsequent remarriage, so he  sneaks into the basement to send time with the maid, Caroline (played by Clarke).

Directed by Michael Longhurst, the production will run at Hampstead Theatre from 12th March to 21 April, with an opening night on 19th March.

Sharon D Clarke has an extensive musical theatre history which includes originating the roles Killer Queen in We Will Rock You and Oda Mae Brown in Ghost the Musical.

The theatre has announced another production for 2018: Dry Powder by Sarah Burgess.

Dry Powder is about a public relations business in New York. The play premiered in New York and starred Claire Danes, John Krasinski, and Hank Azaris. Written by Burgess, whose newest play Kings is to receive its world premiere in New York next year, it will be directed by Anna Ledwich (Labyrinth). It runs at the Hampstead Theatre from 26th January to 3rd March, with an opening night on 1st February.
