Cast Announced for Kinky Boots - Adelphi Theatre

Casting has been announced for the London premiere of the 2013 Tony Award-winning Best Musical Kinky Boots which begin previews at the Adelphi Theatre on 21 August 2015, before an official opening on 15 September 2015.

The musical comedy which features a book by four-time Tony Award winner Harvey Fierstein and music and lyrics by Tony and two-time Grammy Award winner Cyndi Lauper, will feature Killian Donnelly and Matt Henry in the central characters 'Charlie' and 'Lola'.

They will be joined by a full company which includes Amy Lennox (Lauren), Jamie Baughan (Don), Amy Ross (Nicola), Michael Hobbs (George), Gemma Atkins, Paul Ayers, Jeremy Batt, Arun Blair-Mangat, Marcus Collins, Emma Crossley, Jordan Fox, Callum Francis, Robert Grose, Gillian Hardie, Chloe Hart, Sophie Isaacs, Luke Jackson, Robert Jones, Adam Lake, Catherine Millsom, Sean Needham, Tim Prottey-Jones, Verity Quade, Javier Santos, Dominic Tribuzio, Alan Vicary, Michael Vinsen and Bleu Woodward.

Inspired by a true story and based on the Miramax film written by Geoff Deane and Tim Firth, Kinky Boots tells the story of Charlie Price who has reluctantly inherited his father's Northampton shoe factory. Trying to live up to his father's legacy and save the family business from bankruptcy, Charlie finds inspiration in the form of Lola. A fabulous entertainer in need of some sturdy stilettos, Lola turns out to be the one person who can help Charlie become the man he's meant to be. As they work to turn the factory around, this unlikely pair finds that they have more in common than they ever dreamed possible... and discovers that when you change your mind, you can change the world."

Kinky Boots is directed and choreographed by two-time Tony Award winner Jerry Mitchell and features set design by David Rockwell, costumes by Gregg Barnes, lighting by Kenneth Posner, sound design by John Shivers and musical supervision, arrangements & orchestrations by Stephen Oremus.

The Broadway production of Kinky Boots officially opened at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre on 4 April 2013, following previews from 3 March 2013. It was nominated for a total of 13 Tony Awards, of which it won six: Best Musical, Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Musical (Billy Porter), Best Original Score (Cyndi Lauper), Best Choreography (Jerry Mitchell), Best Orchestrations (Stephen Oremus); and Best Sound Design (John Shivers).

Killian Donnelly (Charlie) is currently playing Huey Calhoun in 'Memphis' at the Shaftesbury Theatre. Theatre credits include 'The Commitments' (Palace Theatre), 'Billy Elliot' (Victoria Palace Theatre), 'The Phantom of the Opera' (Her Majesty's Theatre), and 'Les Misérables' (Queens Theatre).

Matt Henry (Lola) recorded an album in 2014 after appearing as a finalist on Series 2 of 'The Voice'. Theatre credits include 'Avenue Q' (National Tour), 'The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe'(Northampton), 'The Harder They Come' (Theatre Royal Stratford East) and 'The Rat Pack Live from Las Vegas'.
