Initial casting has been announced for the UK premiere of Paul Grellong’s Power of Sail. The play opens at the Menier Chocolate Factory in London on 28 March.

Julian Ovenden, whose theatre work includes South Pacific, All Above Eve, and My Night with Reg, will play Harvard professor Charles Nichols. He is joined by Tanya Franks (The Truth, Othello, Sing Yer Heart Out for the Lads, East) as Amy, Katie Bernstein (The Man in the White Suit, The Play that Goes Wrong, Mrs Henderon Presents) as Maggie, Georgia Landers (Rock n Roll, Measure for Measure, The Winter’s Tale) as Quinn, and Paul Rider (The Comedy of Errors, The Tempest, Cymbeline, Julius Caesar) as Frank.

The play, directed by Dominic Dromgoole, follows Harvard professor Charles Nichols as he invites a white nationalist to his yearly symposium. His decision surprises everyone and despite the protests of his students, Nichols refuses to budge. Is there another reason for the invite?

The rest of the creative team includes designer Paul Farnsworth, sound designer Ella Wahlstrőm, and lighting designer Oliver Fenwick.
