The Regent's Park Open Air Theatre has announced a cast change for its current revival of On the Town due to a foot injury sustained by Fred Haig at the performance on Monday, 22 May. Mr. Haig's injury has now been confirmed as a fracture, which means that he has sadly had to withdraw from the production. His understudy Jacob Maynard will now play the role of Chip for the remainder of the run through to 1 July 2017.

Mr. Maynard's previous credits include 'Guys and Dolls' (SavoyTheatre and UK Tour), as well as the UK Tours of 'Love Me Tender,' and 'Five Guys Named Moe'.

Previews began on 19 May for the outdoor revival. The official opening has now been moved from 25 May to 31 May 2017 to allow time for Mr. Maynard to settle into the cast.

The cast now features Danny Mac, Jacob Maynard and Jeremy Taylor as the three sailors Gabey, Chip and Ozzie, alongside Siena Kelly, Lizzy Connolly and Miriam-Teak Lee as Ivy, Hildy and Claire.

They are joined by Maggie Steed as Madame Dilly, Naoko Mori as Lucy Schmeeler, Rodney Earl Clarke as The Workman, Mark Heenehan as Judge Pitkin and an ensemble that includes Michelle Andrews, Myles Brown, Matthew Caputo, Edward Chitticks, Lavinia Fitzpatrick, Cristina Hoey, James Leece, Jacob Maynard, Rachel Muldoon, Melissa Nettleford, Emily Ann Potter, Mollie Melia Redgrave, Lisa Ritchie, Barnaby Thompson, Sam Salter and Brandon Lee Sears.

Based on a concept by Jerome Robbins with music by Leonard Bernstein and book and lyrics by Betty Comden and Adolph Green, On the Town includes the hit songs "New York, New York (it's a helluva town)", "I Can Cook Too", "You Got Me" and "Lonely Town".

This new revival is directed and choreographed by Drew McOnie, winner of the Olivier Award for Best Theatre Choreography for In the Heights before scoring a hit with his choreography for Jesus Christ Superstar in 2016.

On The Town is designed by Peter McKintosh with musical direction by Tom Deering, lighting design by Howard Hudson and sound design by Nick Lidster for Autograph.

Danny Mac (Gabey) was a finalist in Strictly Come Dancing 2016 and played Mark 'Dodger' Savage in Hollyoaks. He has previously starred in Wicked in the West End.

Jeremy Taylor (Ozzie) recently played Fiyero in Wicked (Victoria Apollo), and has previously appeared in We Will Rock You (Dominion), The Sound of Music (Palladium and UK tour) and Evita (UK tour). Lizzy Connolly (Hildy) is currently appearing in The Wild Party (The Other Palace) having previously appeared in Once In A Lifetime (Young Vic).
