Casting has been announced for the UK premiere of the Hamilton spoof musical Spamilton, which is coming to the Menier Chocolate Factory next month.

Written and directed by Gerard Alessandrini, the musical pokes fun at Lin-Manuel Miranda's hip-hop phenomenon Hamilton with songs like "Look Around (The Schuyler Puppets)", "Lin-Manuel's New York City", "Lin-Manuel as Hamilton".

The cast will include Marc Akinfolarin, Jason Denton, Eddie Elliott, Liam Tamne and Julie Yammanee. There will also be special guest appearances by Sophie-Louise Dann and Damian Humbley.

Marc Akinfolarin, whose credits include UK tours of Spamalot and Jesus Christ Superstar, returns to the Menier - after Assassins and The Color Purple - as does Sophie Louise-Dann, who appeared in both productions of Forbidden Broadway. Damian Humbley returns to the theatre after appearing in Merrily We Roll Along, Forbidden Broadway and The Last 5 Years.

Jason Denton previously appeared in the original cast of School of Rock in London, while Eddie Elliott appeared in Motown, Liam Tamne starred in the Southwark Playhouse production of Working, and Julie Yammanee appeared in David Bowie musical Lazarus in 2006.

The musical will have choreography by Gerry McIntyre, set design by Morgan Large, costume design by Dustin Cross, lighting design by Tim Lutkin, sound design by Gregory Clarke and Jonathan Everett, arrangements by Fred Barton and musical direction by Simon Beck.

Spamilton is at the Menier Chocolate Factory from 12th July to 8th September.
