Casting announced for Kit Buchan and Jim Barne's 'Mona Loser' workshops

Mona Loser draws inspiration from Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein to tell a modern story about "viral fame, fakery and identity".

Casting has been revealed for workshop performances of Two Strangers (Carry A Cake Across New York) writing duo Kit Buchan and Jim Barne's new musical Mona Loser. Performances run from 2-5 September at at Southwark Playhouse Borough.

Directed by Tony nominee Tim Jackson (Merrily We Roll Along, Two Strangers (Carry A Cake Across New York), The Least Problematic Woman in the World), Mona Loser draws inspiration from Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein to tell a modern story about "viral fame, fakery and identity".

The cast includes Ako Mitchell (Mean Girls, Once on This Island), Annabel Marlow (Saturday Night Live UK, Six), Carla Dixon-Hernandez (Something Rotten!, Mrs. Doubtfire the Musical), Chad Saint Louis (Something Rotten!, 50 First Dates), Kayna Montecillo (Ride the Cyclone, Starlight Express), Nic Myers (Brigadoon, Cabaret), Obioma Ugoala (Frozen: The Musical, Hamilton), and Steven Webb (Shucked, The Book of Mormon).

Mona Loser previously had workshops at Southwark Playhouse Borough in 2025, as well as Birmingham Hippodrome earlier this year.
