Casting announced for musical Twelfth Night at the Young Vic

Casting has been announced for the Young Vic's upcoming musical production of Shakespeare's Twelfth Night, which has been co-conceived by new artistic director Kwame Kwei-Armah.

Kwei-Armah has conceived the production alongside American musician Shaina Taub, who has provided the music and lyrics to 23 original songs in the show.

This version of Twelfth Night, co-directed by Kwei-Armah and Public Theater AD Oskar Eustis, premiered at the Public in 2016 running for just three performances, but is set for a full month's run in New York this summer as part of the Shakespeare in the Park series.

The London cast of Twelfth Night at the Young Vic will feature:

Melissa Allen (Feste)

Gerard Carey (Malvolio)
Natalie Dew (Olivia)
Martyn Ellis (Sir Toby Belch) 
Gbemisola Ikumelo (Maria)
Jyuddah Jaymes (Sebastian)
Jonathan Livingstone (Antonio)
Silas Wyatt-Barke (Andrew Aguecheek) 

The professional cast will also be joined by a community chorus, made up of 60 residents from Southwark and Lambeth, split into two teams of 30.

Twelfth Night will have set design by Rob Jones, costumes by Brigitte Reiffenstuel, lighting by Tim Lutkin, sound design by Richard Brooker, choreography by Lizzi Gee and musical direction by Sean Green.

Twelfth Night is at the Young Vic from 2nd October to 17th November.
