Casting announced for Our Town at the Almeida

Casting has been announced for Our Town, by Thornton Wilder, at the Almeida Theatre in Islington, north London, which runs from 10 October to 29 November 2014.

Joining the previously announced David Cromer, who will also direct, are: Michael Ajao, Paul Bigley, Arthur Byrne, Sidney Cole, Kate Dickie, Laura Elsworthy, Anna Francolini, Matthew Jacobs-Morgan, Daniel Kendrick, Simon Lennon, Jessica Lester, Richard Lumsden, Annette McLaughlin, Christopher Staines, Rhashan Stone and David Walmsley.

Designed by Michele Spadaro and Stephen Dobay, lighting by Heather Gilbert and costume by Alison Siple. The play is performed with minimal props and is about two people who fall in love, marry, and live out their lives as a small American town becomes an allegory for everyday life.

Bios:

Paul Bigley has recently appeared on the West End stage in '39 Steps' at the Criterion Theatre. On film, Bigley has appeared in 'Shakespeare in Love' and television credits include 'The Hour' and 'Hustle'.

Following television appearances in 'Doctors', 'Coming Up' and 'Law and Order: UK', Jessica Lester will be making her stage debut in this production.

Annette McLaughlin's West End credits include 'Matilda' and 'Anything Goes', and she has also made many appearances at Regent's Park Open Air Theatre, in productions such as 'Romeo and Juliet', 'A Midsummer Night's Dream', 'Henry IV, Part 1' and 'High Society'.

Rhashan Stone has numerous stage credits to his name and was last in the West End two years ago in 'Love and Information' at the Royal Court Downstairs. Stone's television performances include '24', 'Silk', 'Episodes', 'The Armstrong & Miller Show', 'Outnumbered', 'Love Soup' and 'Desmonds'.
