CASTING CONFIRMED FOR TABOO

Casting has been announced for Boy George's new musical Taboo, which opens at The Venue, in Leicester Square on 29th Jan 02, following previews from 11th Jan 02.

The show features Euan Morton (Boy George), Dianne Pilkington (Kim), Luke Evans (Billy), Matt Lucas (Leigh Bowery), Paul Baker (Philip Salon), Gemma Craven (Josie), Marc McGee (Marilyn), Drew Jaymson (Steve Strange), Matt White (Derek), Gail Mckinnon (Fat Sue), Michelle Hooper (Vicky), Declan Bennett, Joe Docherty, Hannah Jane Fox, Lucy Harris and Andy Morton.

It is directed by Christopher Renshaw, designed by Tim Goodchild with lighting by Chris Ellis, and choreography by Les Child.

Taboo tells the story of the times, with actors playing out the parts of the bill-topping performers who defined a generation, including STEVE STRANGE from VISAGE, the indefinable phenomenon that was LEIGH BOWERY, the one-man extravaganza MARILYN and club entrepreneur extraordinaire PHILIP SALLON. And then of course, there's BOY GEORGE, travelling from squat to superstardom, from rock to rock bottom. The show interweaves some fantastical facts of the 80s with a classic love story of ambition, passion and betrayal.

The Venue is a stylishly retro, reclaimed basement dance hall. The dance hall and rehearsal room has been converted into a 350 seater theatre for the run.
