Further casting has been announced for the London premiere of The Light in the Piazza at the Southbank Centre's Royal Festival Hall.

Based on a novel by Elizabeth Spencer, the story follows Margaret and Clara Johnson, a mother and daughter who are on holiday in Italy during the summer of 1953. When Clara meets a local man Fabrizio Naccarelli, the pair immediately fall in love with each other, however their newly-found love later leads to large family secrets having to be told to one another.

Fabrizio Naccarelli will be played by Rob Houchen, whose previous theatre credits include Eugenius at The Other Palace and Marius in Les Misérables at the Queen's Theatre.

Celinde Schoenmaker will play the role of Franca Naccarelli, best-known for starring as Christine Daaé in The Phantom of the Opera, with Liam Tamne as Giuseppe Naccarelli, whose credits include Raoul in The Phantom of the Opera and Fiyero in Wicked.

International soprano Marie McLaughlin joins the cast as Signora Naccarelli, Fabrizio's mother, with Malcolm Sinclair playing Margaret's husband and Clara's father Roy Johnson.

Matthew Woodyatt, Rhona McGregor, Tom Partridge, Molly Lynch, Nicholas Duncan, Chlöe Hart, Danny Becker, Monica Swayne and Simbi Akande also join the cast.

They will star alongside the previously announced Renée Fleming and Dove Cameron as Margaret and Clara Johnson respectively.

Casting for Fabrizio's father Signor Naccarelli is yet to be announced.

The Light in the Piazza is at Southbank Centre's Royal Festival Hall from 14th June to 5th July.
