Complete casting announced for 50th anniversary tour of Hair the Musical

The full casting has been announced for the 50th anniversary tour of Hair the Musicalopening at the New Wimbledon Theatre in 2019.

Marcus Collins joins the cast as Hud, after starring in Kinky Boots at the Adelphi Theatre and a national tour of Hairspray in 2013, playing Seaweed Stubbs.

Daisy Wood-Davis will play Sheila. Her previous stage credits include Dreamboats and Petticoats at the Savoy Theatre and Playhouse Theatre, as well as a European tour of The Rocky Horror Show.

Jake Quickenden will play Berger in the production, with previous theatre credits including Peter Pan - A Musical Adventure at Blackpool Opera House and Cinderella at the Kings Theatre in Portsmouth.

The cast is completed by Alison Arnopp, Tom Bales, Louise Francis, Natalie Green, David Heywood, Bradley Judge, Aiesha Pease, Laura Sillett, Spin, Kelly Sweeney and Paul Wilkins.

Hair the Musical is set in 1967 and follows the younger generation who live in the East Village of New York. Living a Bohemian life, the politically active tribe try to change the world, questioning what is happening around them and the American flag, rallying together to fight military participation in the Vietnam War.

Written by Gerome Ragni and James Rado with music from Galt MacDermot, the musical features a soundtrack including "Good Morning Starshine", "Aquarius" and "Let the Sunshine In".

The anniversary tour of Hair the Musical will open at the New Wimbledon Theatre on 21st March 2019, before performances in Cheltenham, Manchester, Cardiff, Plymouth, Birmingham, Sunderland, Dartford, Liverpool, Portsmouth, Edinburgh, Oxford, Sheffield, Brighton, Milton Keynes, Wolverhampton, Cologne and ending in Glasgow.
