Cressida Bonas to lead Mrs Orwell at the Old Red Lion Theatre

Bonas takes on the title role in Tony Cox's new play

The Old Red Lion presents the world premiere of Tony Cox's new play Mrs Orwell from 1st August 2017. Based on actual events, the play tells of the final chapter of George Orwell's life as he succumbs to a severe case of Tuberculosis. Jimmy Walters directs Cressida Bonas (Doctor Thorne (ITV), Gatsby and An Evening with Lucien Freud (Leicester Square Theatre)) as Sonia Brownell, with Peter Hamilton Dyer (Twelfth Night and Richard III (Broadway for Shakespeare's Globe), A Midsummer Night's Dream: A Play for the Nation (RSC)), Rosie Ede (Doc Martin, Call The Midwife and 1984 (West End)), Edmund Digby Jones (The Crown (Netflix), Quacks (BBC), Outlander (Sony Pictures)) and Robert Stocks (Jeeves and Wooster A Perfect Nonsense (World Tour), Get Santa (The Royal Court), Animal Farm (Italian Tour)).
