The iconic Oscar and Golden Globe-winning movie Thelma & Louise is coming to the stage as a brand-new musical, and it promises to be an unforgettable road trip. The show will have its world premiere at London’s Young Vic, featuring music by Grammy-nominated artist Neko Case, direction by Trip Cullman (Becky Shaw), and a reimagined script for the stage by original screenwriter Callie Khouri.

The 1991 film famously starred Susan Sarandon and Geena Davis as the titular pair – two friends on a weekend getaway whose adventure morphs into a life-changing journey – as well as Harvey Keitel, Michael Madsen, and a young Brad Pitt. Amy Lennox

Lennox plays Thelma Dickinson (succeeding Geena Davis), the unhappily married housewife longing for freedom. The actress has several impressive stage credits, including Legally Blonde, David Bowie musical Lazarus, and playing Sally Bowles in Cabaret. She was nominated for an Olivier Award for playing Lauren in the original West End cast of Kinky Boots.

Rachel Tucker

Tucker plays Louise Sawyer (succeeding Susan Sarandon), the no-nonsense waitress and Thelma’s fiercely protective friend. She is a renowned Elphaba in Wicked, and her numerous other shows include The Last Ship, Come From Away (for which she was Olivier Award nominated), Sunset Boulevard, Hadestown, The Great Gatsby, and Into the Woods.

Trevor Dion Nicholas

Nicholas plays Detective Hal Slocumb, who winds up on the women’s trail after disaster strikes, but has some sympathy for them. The American actor shot to fame playing The Genie in Aladdin, both on Broadway and in the West End, and has since appeared in Hamilton, Bonnie & Clyde, Next to Normal, Bat Boy: The Musical, Hadestown, and Disney's Hercules.

Jordan Luke Gage

Gage plays J.D., the handsome stranger who charms his way into Thelma’s hotel room (originally played by Brad Pitt). The actor and composer originated the role of Romeo in & Juliet, and his many other stage shows include Bat Out of Hell, Heathers the Musical (playing a different J.D.!), Bonnie & Clyde, Bat Boy: The Musical, Titanique, and Redcliffe.

Alex Gibson-Giorgio

Gibson-Giorgio plays Jimmy Lennox, Louise’s flaky musician boyfriend who gatecrashes the trip with a surprise. The Australian actor has credits back home including Mamma Mia!, Aladdin, Yank!, and Anything Goes, as well as in the UK, such as Top Hat, Sinatra The Musical, Zorro, and Rags. His screen projects include Time Bandits and One Day.

Samuel Edwards

Edwards plays Darryl Dickinson, Thelma’s controlling carpet salesman husband, who is furious that she’s left. His screen projects include Ted Lasso, Wild Cherry, and The War Between the Land and the Sea, while on stage, he’s appeared in Mrs Doubtfire, Anything Goes, Les Misérables, On the Town, Ghost, Wicked, and The Sound of Music.

Tamlyn Henderson

Henderson plays two contrasting roles in the show: FBI Agent Max, and barfly Harlan, whose unwelcome attention to Thelma has serious consequences. The actor and writer has stage credits such as Mamma Mia!, Waitress, Les Misérables, The Sound of Music, Cabaret, and We Will Rock You, while his screen work includes The Salt Path and The Tattooist of Auschwitz.

Letitia Hector

Hector plays Sarah, who possibly replaces the movie’s waitress character Lena, or might be a new character for the show. Her theatre work includes Tina – The Tina Turner Musical, 2:22 A Ghost Story, A Night with Janis Joplin, and Thriller Live, while on TV she’s appeared in shows such as Hope Street, The Box, Succession, Trying, Drunk Black History, and Venus vs Mars.

Jack Butterworth

Butterworth plays a trooper in the show and is also credited as Singer, so may have some kind of narrator role. His acclaimed stage work includes American Psycho, Here We Are, Kiss Me, Kate, Guys & Dolls, Top Hat, Carousel, The Boy Friend, and Hamilton. His screen work includes the Snow White and Wicked movies, and Hannah Waddingham’s TV special.
