The upcoming West End production of Pretty Woman the Musical has found its leads in actors Aimie Atkinson and Danny Mac, who will star in the musical at the Piccadilly Theatre from February.

Atkinson will play the lead role of Vivian, and is best known for being an original cast member in the cult hit musical Six at the Arts Theatre, while she has also starred in In The Heights at the King's Cross Theatre.

Danny Mac is currently appearing in White Christmas at the Dominion Theatre, while he has also starred in musicals such as On The Town at Regent's Park Open Air Theatre, Sunset Boulevard, Amelie, Wicked and Legally Blonde.

Mac will play Edward in the musical, which is based on the 1990 film which starred Julia Roberts and Richard Gere. It premiered on Broadway in 2018 and has original music by Bryan Adams and Jim Vallance (as well as Roy Orbison and Bill Dee's hit "Oh, Pretty Woman"), with a book by Garry Marshall and the film's screenwriter J F Lawton.

Director and choreographer Jerry Mitchell said: "When I first saw Aimie I knew I wanted to work with her. Her star quality, attack and voice in Six leapt off the stage. I have wanted to work with the very talented Danny Mac for ages. His voice is perfectly suited for Bryan Adams and Jim Vallance's romantic score.

"Together, Aimie and Danny will make the West End production of Pretty Woman the Musical sizzle, and with them we'll all be falling in love again with Garry Marshall and JF Lawton's romantic story."

Further casting is set to be announced.

Pretty Woman the Musical has scenic design by David Rockwell, costumes by Tom Rogers (from the original Broadway designs by Gregg Barnes), lighting by Kenneth Posner and Philip S Rosenberg, sound design by John Shivers, hair design by Josh Marquette, and music supervision, arrangements and orchestrations by Will Van Dyke.

Pretty Woman the Musical is at the Piccadilly Theatre from 13th February.
