The Sheffield Theatre's production of Fiddler on the Roof is to transfer to the West End's Savoy Theatre, opening from 29 May 2007, following previews from 19 May 2007 - booking to 29 Sep 2007

Fiddler on the Roof is based on the Sholem Aleichem stories, Book by Joseph Stein, Music by Jerry Bock, Lyrics by Sheldon Harnick

Choreography by Jerome Robbins (recreated by Sammy Dallas Bates) with additional choreography by Kate Flatt. It is designed by Peter McKintosh with lighting by Peter Mumford.

It is produced in the West End by Kim Poster for Stanhope Productions and Bulldog Theatrical.

'Tevye' the dairyman is an old-fashioned father who wants to see his daughters married in the traditional Jewish way. But revolution is in the air and the young are guided by their hearts, not their elders. Set in Tsarist Russia in 1905, this is the tale of the emotional turmoil of a family facing upheaval in their lives.
