Full cast announced for world premiere of Back to the Future musical
The full cast for the world premiere of Back to the Future has been announced, opening at Manchester Opera House in February 2020 ahead of a subsequent West End transfer.
Details on a venue, dates and tickets details for the West End transfer of Back to the Future are to be announced.
They will join the previously announced Roger Bart as Doctor Emmett Brown, who will make his West End debut in Back to the Future. Olly Dobson will play Marty McFly alongside Hugh Coles as George McFly, Rosanna Hyland as Lorraine Baines and Cedric Neal as Goldie Wilson.
Courtney-Mae Briggs will play the role of Jennifer Parker, with West End credits including Hamilton and In The Heights. She is joined by Aidan Cutler as Biff Tannen, Will Haswell as Dave McFly and Emma Lloyd as Linda McFly.
The cast is completed by Rhianne Alleyne, Amy Barker, Owen Chaponda, Jamal Crawford, Nathanael Landskroner, Bethany Rose Lythgoe, Cameron McAllister, Alessia McDermott, Laura Mullowney, Oliver Ormson, Mark Oxtoby, Katharine Pearson, Jemma Revell, Jake Small, Justin Thomas and Mitchell Zhangazha.
Based on the 1985 science-fiction movie of the same name, Back to the Future follows the story of Marty McFly who is transported back in time after a ride in a time-travelling DeLorean invented by Dr. Emmett Brown. As the pair try to return to real-life and save themselves, they have to make sure Marty's parents fall in love once again.
The musical will feature iconic songs from the 1985 movie including 'Johnny B. Goode' and 'The Power of Love'.
Back to the Future features an original book by Bob Gale, with music and lyrics by Alan Silvestri and Glen Ballard.
Back to the Future is at Manchester Opera House for a limited engagement of 12 weeks from 20th February 2020. Back to the Future The Musical is scheduled to start performances in the West End at the Adelphi Theatre from 14 May 2021.
