Full cast joining Cuba Gooding Jnr in Chicago in the West End announced

The full cast joining the previously announced Cuba Gooding Jnr, Ruthie Henshall, Sarah Soetaert and Josefina Gabrielle in Chicago in the West End has been announced.

Soetaert and Gabrielle play Roxie and Velma, two criminals facing murder charges who call on superstar lawyer Billy Flynn (Gooding Jnr) to get them off the hook as their trials hit the headlines. Henshall plays the matron of County Cook Jail, Mama Morton.

Chicago will run at the Phoenix Theatre from 11th April to 23rd June.

The full cast of Chicago includes Paul Rider as Amos Hart. Rider has previously played Amos in the West End at the Adelphi and Cambridge theatres, and has also appeared in A Woman of No Importance (Vaudeville Theatre) and The Tempest, Cymbeline and Measure for Measure at Shakespeare's Globe.

The cast of Chicago will also feature Alan Richardson, Michelle Antrobus, Natalie Bennyworth, Nicola Coates, Frances Dee, Zoe Gappy, Emma Harris, Chelsea Labadini, Joanna Rennie, Abramo Ciullo, Francis Foreman, Luke Jarvis, Matt Krzan, Charles Ruhrmund, Todd Talbot, Callum Macdonald, Chris Warner Drake and Matthew Wesley.

Chicago opened in New York in 1975, was revived in 1996, and recently celebrated its 21st birthday on Broadway, where it is the world's longest-running American musical. It features the songs "All That Jazz", "Mr Cellophane" and "Me and My Baby", and was adapted into an Oscar-winning film starring Renée Zellweger and Catherine Zeta-Jones in 2002.

Chicago is at the Phoenix Theatre from 11th April to 23rd June.
