
Full cast revealed for 'John Proctor Is the Villain' at the Royal Court

The full cast has been revealed for the London transfer of Kimberly Belflower's Tony Award-nominated play John Proctor is the Villain. The show begins performances at the Royal Court from 20 March, running through 25 April.
Directed by Tony Award winner Danya Taymor (The Outsiders), this reimagining of Arthur Miller’s The Crucible follows five young women from small-town America questioning everything they've been taught about power, relationships, and girlhood.
The full new cast includes Lauryn Ajufo (Nell Shaw); Charlie Borg (Lee Turner); Reece Braddock (Mason Adams); Dónal Finn (Carter Smith); Holly Howden Gilchrist (Beth Powell); Clare Hughes (Ivy Watkins); Miya James (Raelynn Nix); Molly McFadden (Bailey Gallagher); and Sadie Soverall (Shelby Holcomb). Three of the cast are making their professional debuts in the production.
The creative team has scenography by AMP, featuring Teresa Williams, costume design by Sarah Laux, lighting design by Natasha Katz, sound design and original composition by Palmer Hefferan, projection design by Hannah Wasileski, hair and make-up design by J. Jared Janas, movement direction by Tilly Evans-Kreuger, and dramaturgy by Lauren Halvorsen.
John Proctor Is the Villain opened on Broadway in March 2025, and starred Stranger Things actor Sadie Sink. The play received seven Tony Award nominations.
