Further casting has been announced for the Kenneth Branagh Theatre Company's upcoming production of The Entertainer by John Osborne, which runs at the Garrick Theatre from 20 August to 12 November 2016, with an official opening on 30 August 2016.

Joining the previously announced Kenneth Branagh who will star as Archie Rice, will be John Hurt as Billy Rice, Sophie McShera as Jean, Jonah Hauer-King as Frank and Greta Scacchi as Phoebe.

Set against the backdrop of post-war Britain, John Osborne's modern classic conjures the seedy glamour of the old music halls for an explosive examination of public masks and private torment.

The production is directed by Rob Ashford, who has co-directed various productions in the Kenneth Branagh Season. Further creative team is to be announced.

John Hurt CBE is an actor whose career has spanned over six decades. On screen, he is known for roles in 'The Naked Civil Servant', 'The Elephant Man' and 'Nineteen Eighty Four', along with the 'Harry Potter' franchise, 'Alien' and the 'Hellboy' films.

Sophie McShera is most well known for her TV roles in 'Downton Abbey' and 'Waterloo Road'. She last starred in the West End in Jez Butterworth's sell out drama 'Jerusalem' alongside Mark Rylance.

Greta Scacchi is an Italian-Australian actress whose film credits include 'Rasputin: Dark Servent of Destiny', 'The Ebony Tower', 'White Mischief', 'Presumed Innocent', 'The Player' and 'Country Life'.

Jonah Hauer-King recently starred in 'Punk Rock' at the Lyric Theatre. His film credits include 'The Last Photograph' and 'Ashes in the Snow'.
