Home, I’m Darling starring Katherine Parkinson to transfer to the West End

Laura Wade's play Home, I'm Darling is set to transfer to the West End next year following a sell-out run at the National Theatre this summer.

The play, directed by Theatr Clwyd artistic director Tamara Harvey, is about a woman who lives her life like she is in the 1950s, leaving her job and becoming a full-time housewife and looking after the home while her husband goes off to work.

Starring Katherine Parkinson as Judy, a woman who tries to make sure she lives her life as closely to a 1950s lifestyle as possible, will transfer to the Duke of York's Theatre from 26^th January to 13^th April, with an official opening night on 5^th February.

Home, I'm Darling tickets are on sale now. 

Parkinson is known for her roles on-screen such as Humans and The IT Crowd, and on stage, she has appeared in Dead Funny at the Vaudeville Theatre, Before the Party at the Almeida Theatre and Absent Friends at the Harold Pinter Theatre.

Laura Wade's previous work includes Posh at the Royal Court and in the West End, as well as Tipping the Velvet and Kreutzer vs Kreutzer.

In a review of the London premiere earlier this year, Will Longman wrote that the play was a "fascinating play about gender roles in modern life".

Towards the end of the London run, the play made news when National Theatre director Rufus Norris forced to step into one of the roles, script-in-hand, and with one hour's rehearsal time.

Home, I'm Darling will run at the Duke of York's Theatre from 26^th January.

Home, I'm Darling tickets will go on sale from 9^th November.
