How do you write a show about the Godfather of comedy, Spike Milligan?

Spike Milligan is one of the greats of British comedy. He had huge success with The Goon Show and later, the series Q showcased his surreal sense of humour the likes of which had never been seen, so much so he is said to have had a major influence on Monty Python's Flying Circus.

At this year's Edinburgh Festival, Chris Larner and Jeremy Stockwell pay homage to the great with A Sockful of Custard, which chronicles the madness of Milligan's crazy world in his own distinguishable fashion.

We caught up with Larner before he left for Edinburgh to find out more about A Sockful of Custard.

A Sockful of Custard is at Pleasance from 1st to 27th August at 8 pm.
