In "Blithe Spirit" Stephanie Cole will take over from Penelope Keith on 4 April 2005

In Blithe Spirit Stephanie Cole will take over the role of 'Madame Arcati' from Penelope Keith on 4 April 2005 at Savoy Theatre.

The current cast of Blithe Spirit is: Penelope Keith (Madame Arcati, until 2 April 2005, then Stephanie Cole takes over the role), Joanna Riding (Ruth Condomine), Michelle Terry (Edith), Aden Gillett (Charles Condomine), Derek Hutchinson (Dr Bradman), Barbra Kirby (Mrs Bradman), Amanda Drew (Elvira).

Noel Coward's Blithe Spirit opened at the Savoy Theatre 22 Nov 2004, following previews from 16 Nov, to reasonable notices from the popular press: IAN JOHNS for THE TIMES says, "A beautifully structured comedy." NICHOLAS DE JONGH for THE EVENING STANDARD says, "Leaves me quite unamused." LYN GARDNER for THE GUARDIAN says, "Superb revival."

Currently booking to 28 May 2005, the comedy is directed by Thea Sharrock , designed by Simon Higlett, lighting by Peter Mumford, and sound by Gareth Fry.

Author and socialite Charles Condomine and his second wife Ruth decide to hold a seance as an after dinner entertainment. Their lives are soon turned upside down when the wildly eccentric medium Madame Arcati inadvertently conjures up the ghost of Charles' deceased first wife Elvira, who forthwith begins a blithe and spirited campaigne to reclaim her husband!
