The Shared Experience production of Charlotte Bronte's Jane Eyre has extended by 6 weeks to 9 Sep 2006.

The play opened at Trafalgar Studios One on the 12 May 2006, following previews from 9 May - to terrific notices from the popular press: CHARLES SPENCER for THE DAILY TELEGRAPH says, "It is, in fact, one of the finest and most searching stage adaptations of a great novel I have ever seen." BENEDICT NIGHTINGALE for THE TIMES says, "The Shared Experience style — pacy, informal, inventive, physically expressive — keeps you gripped."

The cast includes: Monica Dolan (Jane), James Clyde (Mr. Rochester), Myriam Acharki (Bertha), Sarah Ball, Joan Blackham, John Lightbody, Octavia Walters.

This production of Jane Eyre, adapted and directed by Polly Teale, was at the Young Vic in 1997 and New Ambassadors in 1999.

It has design by Angela Simpson and lighting by Chris Davey and co-produced with Set 2 Ltd.

Jane Eyre is poor, plain and unloved. But locked up in the attic of her imagination lives a woman so passionate and so full of longing she must be guarded night and day for fear of the havoc she would wreak. Who is this woman who threatens to destroy Janes orderly world? A world where Jane has, for the first time, fallen in love.
