The West End production of & Juliet will now resume performances from September. The Max Martin musical will reopen from 24 September at the Shaftesbury Theatre, with & Juliet tickets on sale now.

Previously, & Juliet was due to recommence from 28 May, but has been pushed back by a few months to accommodate the Coronavirus roadmap, allowing large venues to open without social distancing from 21 June

Inspired by William Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet, & Juliet sees the female protagonist's story rewritten, with Juliet taking ownership of her actions. Living her life in Paris, she meets a new group of people, making Juliet view herself differently.

& Juliet is a jukebox musical set to a soundtrack of Max Martin songs, including "Stronger" by Britney Spears and "Break Free" by Ariana Grande. Read more about the Max Martin songs in & Juliet here

& Juliet won three individual Olivier Awards in 2020, for Miriam-Teak Lee as Juliet, Cassidy Janson as Anne Hathaway and David Bedella as Lance. Oliver Tompsett plays William Shakespeare, with Arun Blair-Mangat as May, Jordan Luke Gage as Romeo, Melanie La Barrie as Nurse and Tim Mahendran as Francois.

In a review for LondonTheatre.co.uk, Mark Shenton praised the show: "re-writing Romeo and Juliet in a way that keeps both of them alive - and gives Juliet a lot more agency... it is performed with a glinting knowingness and powerful pop theatre voices."

& Juliet is at the Shaftesbury Theatre from 24 September.
