Miranda Raison cast as Anne Boleyn at Shakespeare' Globe

Miranda Raison, best known for her role as Jo Portman in the BBC drama "Spooks" and as Abbey in ITV's Married Single Other, is to play two characterisations of Anne Boleyn in repertoire at Shakespeare's Globe.

From 15 May - 21 Aug 2010, Miranda Raison will star as Anne Boleyn in Shakespeare's Henry VIII, directed by Mark Rosenblatt. As previously announced, Dominic Rowan will play Henry VIII, and Anthony Howell, well-known as Detective Milner in ITV's Foyle's War, will join him as Buckingham.

From 24 July - 21 Aug 2010, Miranda Raison will also star in the title role of Howard Brenton's new play Anne Boleyn, directed by John Dove. Dramatises the life and legacy of Henry VIII's notorious second wife. Brenton portrays a very different Anne, as both a sexually ambitious woman and a religious reformer taking on the vicious world of Tudor politics.
