Morecambe - a portrait of comedian Eric Morecambe - will be at the Duchess Theatre from 8 Dec 2009

Following his Edinburgh Festival run, Bob Golding brings his uncanny portrayal of Eric Morecambe to the West End stage, in Tim Whitnall's play Morecambe, which opens at the Duchess theatre 10 Dec 2009, following previews from 9 Dec - booking to 17 Jan 2010.

It is directed by Guy Masterson.

In 1984 Britain's 'Best Loved Comedian' Eric Morecambe died Suddenly at the Age Of 58. For an entire generation the Morecambe and Wise Christmas show was the highlight of Christmas Day. In 1977 they had 28 million viewers - half the entire population - watching at the same time.

Now the tall one with glasses is back to help West End audiences celebrate Christmas again in the first biographical play about Eric Morecambe.

(The play is a fictional account which is inspired by Eric Morecambe's life. Whilst many of the events and characters described in the play are real, the story and words are those imagined by the playwright.)

The Feather Productions & Guy Masterson Tti Production is presented in the West End by Michael Edwards & Carole Winter For Mje Productions
