Never Forget cancels transfer - closes 15 Nov 2008

Never Forget - Take That Musical, has cancelled its planned transfer to the Lyric theatre. The show will now finish in the West End when it closes at the Savoy on 15 Nov 2008.

In a statement producer Bronia Buchanan said, "The show was going to have to be substantially re-conceived for the smaller Lyric Theatre, and after discussions with the theatre, the unions, our fabulous cast and creative team, we have decided we need to re-imagine this version and protect the integrity of the production in its current format which has been proven to work time and time again, astounding and thrilling audiences every single night. So this show will now be going out on UK tour, new productions will open in territories around the world next year and there is no doubt that it will be back in the West End in the not too distant future."

The show opened at the Savoy Theatre 21 May 2008, following previews from 7 May to reasonably good notices from the popular press: THE EVENING STANDARD says, "Outrageous costumes and the highest-octane choreography the West End has seen in years." THE INDEPENDENT says, "It's fast-paced and lively, funny and easy on the eye." THE DAILY TELEGRAPH says, "I was both smiling and tapping my foot." THE TIMES says, "While it's played at a zip and sung with a smile, it's terrible old cobblers and it knows it."

It is directed by Ed Curtis, designed by Bob Bailey, lighting by James Whiteside, musical supervisor Mike Dixon, orchestrations by Chris Egan, sound by Richard Brooker, choreography by Karen Bruce.

The production, which features the catalogue of songs by Take That, is a feel-good comedy about love, friendship, ambition and betrayal. Set in Manchester, NEVER FORGET follows the rollercoaster journey of young hero 'Ash' and his best mates in the pursuit of their dreams. Along the way, each of them discovers that pretending to be someone else can sometimes help you discover who you really are. Packed with all the classic Take That songs, the show includes Relight My Fire, Pray, Back For Good, Babe and, of course, Never Forget.
