Nick Hytner announces future productions at National

Nick Hytner has announced future productions at the National Theatre.

Productions in 2007 include the restoration comedy The Man of Mode, by George Etherege, directed by Nick Hytner, in the Olivier; Happy Days by Samuel Beckett, starring Fiona Shaw, directed by Deborah Warner at the Lyttelton; The Reporter, a new play by Nicholas Wright , starring Ben Chaplin, directed by Richard Eyre at the Cottesloe; A stage version of Matter of Life and Death at the Olivier, presented by Emma Rice, Artistic Director of Kneehigh Theatre Company ; A stage version of Michael Morpurgo's War Horse, adapted by Nick Stafford, directed by Marianne Elliot, at the Olivier; A new play by Ayub Khan-Din in the Lyttelton.

It was also announced that David Hare is writing a new play (as yet untitled and subject unknown) for the National Theatre.

In 2008, Ralph Fiennes, to star in a new production of Oedipus, directed by Jonathan Kent, in the Olivier

The History Boys is expected to have a west end run in 2007.

Nick Hytner also said he hoped to have Sunday openings sometime in 2007
