Night of 1000 Voices at the Royal Albert Hall 1 May 2005

Night of 1000 Voices , will be at the Royal Albert Hall on Sunday 1 May 2005 at 8pm.

The fifth anniversary gala performance of the musicals' spectacular is for The Benefit Of The Caron Keating Foundation And The Alan Jay Lerner Fund For Cancer Research.

Hosted by Gloria Hunniford, Michael Ball and Len Cariou will head up an international star cast, performing songs from the best loved shows. They will be joined by their West End and Broadway colleagues including Brad Little, a Broadway Phantom; Patricia Nessy, the young Viennese soprano and Caroline Sheen, the original Truly Scrumptious in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. There will also be tributes to Cy Coleman by the West End's Laura Michelle Kelly, currently playing the lead role in Mary Poppins; Jill Paice, starring as Laura in The Woman In White; Tiffany Graves and Annette McLaughlin. Other soloists who will be performing at this Gala evening include Teri Bibb, Kenneth Nichols, Kelli James, David Michael Johnson, Yngve Gasoy-Romdal. The renowned flautist James Galway and other close friends of Caron Keating and her family will also be making special appearances.

These international guest starts will be joining forces with our soloists, 900 members of the Sing Live (UK) choir and the City of London Philharmonic orchestra to perform songs guaranteed to raise the roof of the Royal Albert Hall. Sing Live is the largest and fastest growing independent choir in the UK. It has been seen all over the country and recently on THE X FACTOR where it was much praised by the judges. With singers ranging in age from 16 to 80 and whose members include teachers, engineers, ambulance drivers, estate agents and a mortician, this extraordinary group is the foundation of THE NIGHT OF 1000 VOICES

Don't Cry For Me Argentina from EVITA, The Tonight Quintet from WEST SIDE STORY, You'll Never Walk Alone from CAROUSEL, Make Our Garden Grow from CANDIDE; Superstar from JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR, Anthem from CHESS, Memory from CATS and The Circle Of Life and Can You Feel The Love Tonight? from THE LION KING, are just some of the songs that will be given THE NIGHT OF 1000 VOICES treatment.

In May 1999, Gloria Hunniford hosted the first ever performance of THE NIGHT OF 1000 VOICES at the Royal Albert Hall. Six years later, the 2005 concert will be held for the benefit of the Caron Keating Foundation and has been given Gloria's special blessing. Gloria says "We are thrilled to have such a major event supporting Caron's Foundation. At a time of deep loss and grief, the Caron Keating Foundation has proved to be a major positive force for our family and has provided a shaft of light enabling us to move forward. We hope that the Foundation in Caron's name will in turn help others and their families who are coping with all forms of cancer. Caron would be very proud to be associated with the stunning array of talent at the Royal Albert Hall. We thank all those involved."
