Oh What A Lovely War returns to Stratford East

Joan Littlewood's Oh What A Lovely War, will return to its original home once again, playing the Theatre Royal, Stratford East, from 29 Jan to 07 Feb 2015.

This production of Oh What A Lovely War is directed by Terry Johnson, with scenic design by Lez Brotherston and military advice by Raymond Fletcher. It is produced by Judy Lloyd and Matthew Mitchell.

Oh What A Lovely War was created by Joan Littlewood, Theatre Workshop, Charles Chilton, Gerry Raffles, Ted Allen and Members of the Original Cast.

Synopsis: 'The musical is packed with familiar songs from the World War I era including 'It's a Long Way to Tipperary', 'Pack up Your Troubles' and 'Keep the Home Fires Burning'. The songs are performed against a projected backdrop of images and shocking statistics conveying the harsh realities of war.'
