"PLAY WHAT I WROTE" RETURNS 30th OCT 02

The Play What I Wrote, which closed at the Wyndham's Theatre on 4th May 02, after a run of 6 months, will return to the same venue on 30th Oct 02 for a run to 4th January 03 (Tickets expected to go on sale within days!).

Written by Sean Foley and Hamish McColl, this comedy concerns two comedians who are asked to perform a tribute to comic duo Morecambe and Wise.

A special celebrity guest appears each night. Guests that have appeared so far include Richard Wilson, Richard E Grant, Ewan McGregor, Ralph Fiennes, Jerry Hall, Dawn French and Minnie Driver.

The show won Best Comedy at the Olivier Awards this year .

The play received positive notices from the popular press whern it opened in November last year..... MICHAEL BILLINGTON for THE GUARDIAN said, "Tear-inducingly funny show.....the gags come thick and fast." SHERIDAN MORLEY for TELETEXT said, "The most anarchic, surreal and original comedy to have hit the West End in ages. " NICHOLAS DE JONGH for THE EVENING STANDARD said, "But though Foley and McColl are brilliant slap-stick pranksters, their Morecambe and Wise routines are strictly for their legions of afficionados."
