Precious Little Talent by Ella Hickson at Trafalgar Studios

Precious Little Talent, by Ella Hickson, opens at the Trafalgar Studios 2 Theatre 8 April 2011, following previews from 5 April - running to 30 April 2011

Directed by James Dacre, produced by James Quaife for Tantrums Ltd.

The story of two 20-somethings graduating into a world that's sold them down the river. Londoner Joey's got a first class degree, 20K worth of debt and works in a pub. It's Christmas and she flees to New York in a bid to find comfort with her estranged father. Just as the world seems to have shunned her, so will he. Yet in the face of such rejection, world-weary Joey falls in love with an idealistic young American and learns what it is to have hope in the future.

Writer Ella Hickson's debut play, Eight, opened at the Edinburgh Festival and, after picking up a Fringe First and The Carol Tambor 'Best of Edinburgh' Award, transferred to the West End's Trafalgar Studios 2. She followed this with her second play Precious Little Talent now transferring to Trafalgar Studios. Her other work includes, Hot Mess, which premièred at this year's Edinburgh Festival, and new projects for Radio 4 and Channel 4. Ella worked with Traverse Theatre, Edinburgh as their Emerging Playwright on Attachment in 2010 and is now the Pearson Playwright in Residence at Lyric Theatre, Hammersmith. She has just completed The Royal Court's Young Writers Invitation Group and is currently under commission to Headlong Theatre. She is the youngest playwright to have ever been published by Nick Hern.
