Richard Schiff joins cast of Smash! at Menier Chocolate

Richard Schiff, best known for playing Toby Ziegler on the television drama The West Wing, joins the cast of Smash! by Jack Rosenthal, which opens at the Menier Chocolate Factory, an off West End venue, in south London, on 31 March 2011, following previews from 24 March - running to 8 May 2011

Richard replaces Kerry Shale, who due to personal reasons has had to leave the production. The cast also includes Cameron Blakely, Josh Cohen, Tom Conti, Natalie Walter.

Directed by Tamara Harvey, designed by Paul Farnsworth, lighting by Tim Mitchell, sound by Gareth Owen.

Comic but scathing look at the journey to get a musical from page to stage, complete with a cantankerous composer, a fantasist lyricist, a neophyte female novelist turned playwright, a cocksure director and a bombastic producer.
