Rogues' Gallery at Hoxton Hall from 13 to 30 Oct
Rogues' Gallery will present two shows in repertoire at the Hoxton Hall, a fringe venue in north London, from 13 to 30 Oct 2010.
She Stoops to Conquer, by Oliver Goldsmith, directed by Matthew Evans. Set in the roaring Twenties. Taking its inspiration from the farce of Silent Cinema and the madcap world of P.G. Wodehouse, love, lust and a bad case of mistaken identity result in a weekend in the countryside like no other.
The Boy I Love Is Up In the Gallery, devised by the company and dramaturgy by Sitembu Goro. A mix of cabaret, Music Hall, innovation and all-out performance. Following the topsy-turvy fortunes of Fred Karno's circus, let us take you on a journey to the heart of 1920's East End, where Music Hall rules. But not all is as it seems when Messers Charlie Chaplin and Stan Laurel arrive and the call of the Silver Screen whispers down the alleyways. Inspired by Cabaret, stand-up comedy, vintage cinema and site-specific theatre, The Boy I Love promises a thrilling and immersive ride into a little-known world. With a special guest star in each performance, every show will be unique.
