'Death Drop' to reopen at the Criterion Theatre with RuPaul’s Drag Race stars
The drag comedy play will return to the West End this spring.
It's time to get sickening! Following two Death Drop engagements at the Garrick Theatre, Death Drop will return to the West End this spring. In a tweet from TuckShop Founder, Christopher Clegg, Death Drop is now at the Criterion Theatre from 3 March to 24 April, and Death Drop tickets are on sale now.
Set in the early 1990s, Death Drop follows a group of drag artists who have been summoned to an island for a dinner party. During the evening, guests reveal their shady pasts to one another, all while working out a murderer's identity.
In a 2021 review for London Theatre, our critic said: "the self-described "Dragatha Christie Murder Mystery" is a glitzy [affair]... the plot is playful and can be delightfully silly at times".
The new Death Drop cast includes JuJubee. The RuPaul's Drag Race star has appeared in four RuPaul's Drag Race seasons, including a new series, RuPaul's Drag Race: UK vs. The World, which premieres next week.
JuJubee will depart from Death Drop on 10 April. RuPaul's Drag Race star Latrice Royale will reprise her performance in Death Drop from 11 April to 24 April.
RuPaul's Drag Race UK Season 3 finalist Kitty Scott-Claus will also appear in Death Drop. Scott-Claus previously starred in Dick Whittington at the Phoenix Theatre. Vinegar Strokes, Richard Energy, Anna Phylactic, Georgia Frost, and Apple Derrieres complete the cast.
Death Drop is at the Criterion Theatre.
