Samantha Barks to star in solo concert at the Adelphi Theatre
UPDATE: In a tweet by Lambert Jackson Productions on 28 September, Samantha Barks' concert has been cancelled.
Soon to star as Elsa in the original London production of Frozen at Theatre Royal Drury Lane, Samantha Barks will return to the West End with a solo concert later this year. Barks will perform a solo concert on 6th September at 5pm at the Adelphi Theatre, joined by a live band.
The concert will be presented by Lambert Jackson Productions. Speaking about the upcoming concert, Jamie Lambert and Eliza Jackson said: "Samantha Barks is one of the world's leading performers and we are so thrilled to be highlighting her immense talent in such a phenomenal solo show!"
Barks rose to fame as a contestant on the BBC show I'd Do Anything, a reality series that searched for an actress to play Nancy in Oliver! competing alongside future leading ladies including Jodie Prenger and Rachel Tucker. She then made her West End debut as Eponine in Les Miserables, later reprising the role in the show's 25th anniversary concert at the O2 Arena and the musical's film adaptation.
In recent years, Barks has played Mallory/Avril in City of Angels at the Donmar Warehouse, Cathy in The Last Five Years, as well as making her Broadway debut as Vivian Ward in Pretty Woman: The Musical. But, later this year, she will return to the West End as Elsa in Frozen, alongside the previously announced Stephanie McKeon as Anna.
Samantha Barks is at the Adelphi Theatre on 6th September.
