Six Dance Lessons in Six Weeks to close one week early on 24 Feb 2007

Six Dance Lessons in Six Weeks , by Richard Alfieri, is to close one week early on 24 Feb 2007, at the Haymarket Theatre.

The play opned on 29 Nov 2006, following previews from 23 Nov, to poor notices from the popular press: THE EVENING STANDARD says, "Awkward production." THE GUARDIAN says, "The only mild pleasure of the evening derives from the performance of Billy Zane as Michael." THE TIMES, "Bland, mawkish play." THE FINANCIAL TIMES says, "As feelgood shows go, this is among the most instantly forgettable." THE INDEPENDENT says, "Nothing more than a predictable."

The comedy features Billy Zane (Michael) & Claire Bloom (Lily)

Directed by Arthur Allan Seidelman, designed by Christopher Woods, dancing by Craig Revel Horwood.

When Lily, an attractive Florida retiree, signs up for six dance lessons in six weeks, it doesn't look like she'll last the course. But an unlikely relationship develops between the prudish widow and her cynical and equally lonely tutor. Michael knows all the dance moves, but perhaps Lily can teach him a thing or two about life.
